PROGRAM
Protection and Safeguarding

Children, adolescents, and vulnerable adults protection and safeguarding program

The CASA Association’s Protection and Safeguarding Program seeks to prevent and address complex social problems such as various types of violence (physical, sexual, financial, emotional, among others).

The Program’s main initiatives include:

Comprehensive support:

To refugees and migrants for the strengthening and recognition of rights that may be violated (for example: document regularization, cultural integration, professional training, access to healthcare, education, and housing).

Community Capacity Building:

Preventive and awareness-raising actions seek to mobilize the community and strengthen family bonds, promoting a culture of active protection against sexual violence and other forms of abuse (such as workshops, talking circles, and other educational activities).

Network Mobilization and Engagement:

Connection with the rights guarantee network to articulate and strengthen the theme of refugee status and migration. Highlighting the dialogue with the public sector, civil society, and intergovernmental organizations to expand the impact of safeguarding and protection actions.

Awareness-Raising and Campaigns:

Promotion of events and dissemination of informative content to engage society in a culture of protection and safeguarding for migrant and refugee children and adolescents, also strengthening their family structures and community.

INSTITUCIONAL

Protection and Safeguarding Policy

To fulfill our commitment before God and the laws of our country, we have built a Protection and Safeguarding Policy, a document that guides us in our activities inside and outside the CASA Association.

The objective of this policy is to safeguard and protect children, adolescents, and adults in situations of social vulnerability.

Every organization that serves people in vulnerable situations needs a Protection and Safeguarding Policy. However, there is no single model that fits all. Each church, organization, and community project operates within its own context, with a specific audience, territory, team, and governance structure. Because of this, replicating another institution's policy without prior analysis results in a weak document in practice: there are several institutional mechanisms that must be examined before building a consistent Protection and Safeguarding Policy.

That is why the CASA Association advocates that every protection policy should begin with an institutional assessment. It is from this technical analysis that a living, applicable policy is built, aligned with each organization's mission. Protecting people requires institutional truth before it requires an institutional document.

If your organization wishes to start this process with technical support, contact the CASA Association at contato@associacaocasa.org.br or Hevea Impact at contato@heveaimpact.com and through the website heveaimpact.com/contato. It will be a joy to walk together.
